Performance of Groundnut Varieties in Kallakurichi District through Farmer Participatory Mode

Field demonstrations were conducted in farmers field of Kallakurichi district during rabi 2020-21 to assess the growth, yield performance and economics new groundnut varieties under irrigated condition. Three improved viz. TMV14, Dharani (TCGS-1043) CO 7, check variety TMV 7 was taken for study. Critical inputs such as Groundnut seed (40 kg farmer-1), treatment chemicals, rich @ 5 ha-1 bio distributed identified (50 nos) by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, through ICAR Cluster Front line Demonstration (CFLD) programme. The study revealed that recorded higher number pods (36/plant), pod (2530 kg/ ha), Haulm (3890 gross returns Rs 139150 net return 84900 with benefit ratio 3.0 followed CO7 2380 ha B:C 2.84 when compared local check. impact FLD also analyzed which showed there significant improvement adoption variety, technologies, knowledge level satisfaction on part farmers. It concluded that, are suitable cultivation rabi/summer (January-April) season district.
